JINGDEZHEN KILNS, 1840-1880
The bottle is decorated on one side with Zhong Kui, the Demon
Queller, shown in his scholar’s hat and holding a sword as he watches
a bat in fight.

TWO WHITE JADE RECTANGULAR SNUFF BOTTLES
1750-1870
The larger bottle is carved on the two main facets with shou (long life)
and fu (happiness) characters, and on the narrow facets with a xi character,
implying double happiness, shuang xi, and there is an area of russet color
256 on one side. The smaller bottle has plain, raised panels on the sides.
