Daikoku with a bemused expression, crouching over a captured Hotei standing, smiling broadly, holding a sack containing a small
thief struggling beneath, the thief holding a broken fan, Daikoku’s boy slung around his neck, his long loose robe lightly engraved with
robe carved with brocade designs; signed in cursive form in a raised scrolls, the wood slightly worn with a good patina, the hair of the
rectangular reserve Nobuyuki. karako inlaid in dark horn; signed Masatsugu.

pattern on Hotei’s robe is engraved in the manner of Shuosai
Hidemasa of Osaka.
