the boulder deftly carved in openwork with a spotted deer standing atop a rocky outcrop, its head turned back and raised to look
at a bat in flight above, all framed by rockwork and an overhanging tree, with lingzhi sprigs growing below, the pale green stone
with a soft polish

Catalogue Note
Deftly carved from an even pale green stone, the elongated openwork form of this boulder is gracefully mirrored in its details—
the gnarled tree branches, jagged rockwork, twisting lingzhi and sinuous deer. The presence of the deer and bat conveys the rebus
'may your blessings and emolument be complete' (fulu shangquan).
