These paintings were both commissioned by Qing officials in China in 1849. 倆幅畫道光酉巳年作(1849年)。

The inscriber of Birthday Celebration, Li Hui (d. 1853) is recorded among
the exemplary biographies in the Official History of the Qing Dynasty. His 來源:
resistance against the forces of the Taiping Rebellion was particularly noted, 英國私人舊藏
receiving praise from the Xianfeng Emperor. He died in service against 題慶壽圖的李僡 ,陝西華陽人,道光二年進士(1822)。1853年反太平軍卒於任上。綠於
the rebellion in 1853 (Qingshi Gao, Liezhuan 212). The inscriber of Naval 《清史稿,列傳二百十二》。
Commissioner, Sun Yunhong, identifies himself in his inscription as a
naval official.
