                                                                          The plump figures clad in voluminous high-waisted
                                                                          robes defined by long pleated skirts falling above
                                                                          the upturned slippers, the round faces with small
                                                                          painted lips, brows and narrow eyes beneath
                                                                          large elaborate chignons, with traces of coloured
                                                                          pigments remaining.
