This set of four scrolls invites the viewer
to embark on a visual journey of observing
Mount Fuji during all four seasons. When
placed side by side, the scrolls synthesise
into one harmonious whole that captures the
shifting seasons from spring through winter
against the backdrop of the unchanging,
immortal presence of Mount Fuji. When
viewing from a certain distance, the almighty
Mount Fuji appears to be unreachable and to
transcend time and space in Ōkyo’s creation.
