A LARGE CANTON ENAMEL VASE
19th century
Of baluster form with a cupped mouth,
brightly painted with two large panels of grand
official gatherings, and smaller shaped panels
of informal meetings, all reserved against
a florid ground of flowers, fruit, foliage and
butterflies, bordered by bands of lotus petals,
scrolling foliage and lappets, the inside of the
mouth painted with floral sprigs.
