A RARE ‘TIANHUANG’ SEAL
Qing dynasty/Republic period
The square sectioned seal body surmounted by horned mythical beast
with powerful claws and bushy tail, seated with its head turned to
one side, the seal face carved in intaglio with four characters reading
jingrong zhuhe, flanked by two dragons contesting a flaming pearl
carved in relief, the stone of a rich variegated yellow color with some
translucent streaks.
