5.1.3 Setting Cell Zone & Boundary Conditions
In ANSYS FLUENT, boundary conditions are associated with zones, not with individual faces or cells. If
you want to combine two or more zones that will have the same boundary conditions, see Section
6.8.1: Merging Zones for information about merging zones.
To set cell zone and boundary conditions for a particular zone, perform one of the following
sequences:
1. Select the zone from the Zone list in the Cell Zone Conditions or Boundary Conditions task page.
2. Click the Edit... button.
or
1. Choose the zone in the Zone list.
2. Click on the selected zone type from the Type drop-down list.
or
1. Double-click on the zone in the Zone list.
5.2 Cell Zone Conditions
Cell zones consist of fluids and solids. Porous zones in ANSYS FLUENT are treated as fluid zones. A
detailed description of the various cell zones is given in the sections that follow.
