Presidents Who
Were
Masons
February marks the Birthday of two
of our most famous Presidents.
We all are familiar with our famous
Brother George Washington, our first
president, but there are some other
Brothers who were not so famous,
and interestingly enough some who
we are not so sure about.
For Example:
• Thomas Jefferson is often
claimed to be a Mason. However,
there is no evidence to support
this
• It is speculated that Abraham
Lincoln was planning on petition-
ing for membership once his sec-
ond term was up. His untimely
death prevented that
• Lyndon Johnson only took his
first degree on October 30, 1937
in Johnson City Lodge #561 in
Texas
• Ronald Regan was made an hon-
orary Mason
• Bill Clinton was a member of De-
Molay but never became a Mason
