Castle physicians brighten the holidays for families at Weinberg Village
“Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.”—Galatians 2:20
This holiday season, as they have
for many years, Adventist Health Castle’s Medical Staff contributed to those in need and provided fifteen warm Thanksgiving dinners to the less fortunate; as well as sixteen Christmas trees along with bags of decorations and lights to residents of the Waimanalo Weinberg Village. The Waimanalo Weinberg Village is a non- profit facility that provides transitional housing and services to families who were homeless or at risk.
Quarterly Staff Meeting Highlights:
Department of Emergency Medicine
Alex Berk, MD, Vice-Chair, reminded specialists to inform Heather Gibson of their preference on being called prior to acceptance of an outside transfer.
Department of Ob/Gyn/Pediatrics
Susan Chapman, MD, reported that the department offers nitrous oxide for laboring patients, delivery volume is down, and the hospital is non-par for Tricare.
Department of Psychiatry
Enrique Villarreal, MD, Chair, reported that the department will receive training to use Hawaii Health Information Exchange. HHIE will allow physicians to access records at participating hospitals.
Castle Health Group
Brit Reis, MD, reported that CHG is the top quality physician organization in the state. She asked for support with cervical cancer screening documentation. She believes screening is higher than what is reported. She will email a list of codes to gynecologists. Dr. Reis also reported that she is currently offering Telehealth services in her office and has not had an issue with reimbursement.
