Hawaii Cord Blood Bank honors Castle’s 2019 Campaign Winners
The Hawaii Cord Blood Bank honored Adventist Health Castle’s 2019 winners of their annual Pump Up the Volume – Big and Banked Campaign. The campaign aligns with the organization’s mission of “improving patient access to transplants, including the collection and public banking of umbilical cord blood from Hawaii’s ethnically diverse population” and encourages OB doctors, midwives and nurses to recruit donors and collect umbilical cord blood for the public cord blood bank at all delivering hospitals on Oahu.

The Lown Institute is a health care organization founded by world-renowned cardiologist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Bernard Lown that honors hospitals for both excellence in serving individual patients and for contributions to advancing equity in their communities. The Institute is the first to include metrics like Inclusivity, Pay Equity, Avoiding Overuse, and Civic Leadership in evaluating hospital performance.
