on KHON2’s morning show Live. Reporter Dallis Ontiveros spoke with Dr. Lo about necessary precautions and processes relating to the Coronavirus. Among other things,
Dr. Lo shared the importance of following current guidelines for social distancing, handwashing and the effectiveness of wearing face masks and when they should be worn.

The Windward Urgent Care Clinic operated by Scott Miscovich, MD, and housed in Adventist Health Castle’s Castle Professional Center in Ka¯ne‘ohe was featured on Hawai‘i News Now. The clinic became the state’s first COVID-19 regional treatment center and put in place new safety procedures at Ka¯ne‘ohe’s largest medical office building, screening every person entering the Castle Professional Center for signs of the coronavirus.

Castle nephrology specialist David Na`ai, MD, and diabetes educator Amanda McFarland, RF, were featured on KHON2 TV’s In Sickness and In Health program as part of National Kidney Month and National Nutrition Month. Dr. Naai shared with viewers the connection between plant-based nutrition, kidney disease and diabetes, as well as the vital functions of the kidneys and how lifestyle changes and decreasing animal protein in your diet can help guard against kidney disease.
Amanda provided tips on controlling carbohydrates and eating non-starchy vegetables as well as eating eight to 10 servings of fruits and vegetables can improve kidney function.
