First and foremost, I am sincerely grateful to my supervisors Dr. Charles Choti and Dr. Babere Chacha for
the endless support during this research study, for their endurance, inspiration, interest, and vast knowledge.
Their guidance helped me in all the time of research and writing of this thesis. This thesis has not been
a pushover for the reason that of the re have been a lot of complexities of the revolution process in a
exceptional situation encompassing the sudden political changes in South Sudan. I would also wish to pay
special appreciation goes to my family for their encouragement and inspiration. My sincere appreciation
also goes to my key informants who took the risk of sharing information on SPLM even at great risk.
