ANA MARTIN
TUTOR OF CLASSICS AND FOUNDER AT LATIN TUTOR ONLINE
Hi! My name is Ana and I am on a mission to help more people access Classical Greek and Latin. I have taught both MFL and Classics across Europe, and I will use all the tricks I have learnt along the way to help you succeed with Latin and Greek.
What exams can you help with?
I have experience preparing pupils for 13+, GCSE and A Level, as well as scholarship and university entrance preparation. I know the UK educational system inside out, and I can give advice that is relevant and useful for your needs.
What is your background?
Language learning and dyslexia
My main areas of interest are multilingualism and language change. I help students develop their ability to compare and contrast languages, and learn skills that can be applied across the Humanities. My teaching is structured around your needs, and I will work around your school’s schedule. I am currently working on resources for students of all abilities, from ESL to learners with dyslexia.
Can I start learning straightaway?
Yes! Even when you are on the waiting list, I can guide you with plenty of free resources. I publish on the 11+, ISEB, SATs, GCSE & A-Level Resource Group five times a week covering the Classic languages from 13+ preparation to A2. You can also check out my youtube channel or website for some more free resources and tips to keep your family learning and engaged.

“When I met Agness from the 11+, ISEB, SATs, GCSE & A-Level Resource Group, I was hooked to the project straightaway: it is an amazing community of caring parents, teachers and tutors who work for the students’ best outcomes and team up across subjects to make it happen.”
I learnt Latin and Ancient Greek as part of my Philology degree at the University of Barcelona, and I even had a go at Gothic, Sanskrit and Hittite! I always seek opportunities for personal development, and have learnt German,
French and Italian. I even studied Mandarin when my students started doing it, because I love comparing languages and enjoy the beauty of multilingualism!
After over fifteen years teaching in secondary schools in the United Kingdom and Spain, I decided to start my own company in order to reach more students across the world. Before that, I was Head of Classics in Northwood College for Girls GDST, but I have also worked across a variety of settings, including as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer in the beautiful Mediterranean!
