18. Client’s Telephones and Use of Mobile Phones
18.1 The carer is entitled to the use of the client’s telephone to contact the office, of Ranger Home Care, at all times.
18.2 The client agrees that Ranger Home Care has no responsibility for any charges of any kind incurred in connection with the authorised or unauthorised use of the client’s telephone. Ranger Home Care would recommend the use of a BT Barring service on the client/s telephone.
18.3 The carer is entitled to use their own mobile phone, but personal calls may only be made during rest periods, unless contact is with Ranger Home Care, or updating the Pass System.
19. Client’s Cars
19.1 If the client intends that a carer will use the client’s motor vehicle in the performance of the service, the client shall ensure that, at the client’s expense, the carer is covered by an adequate insurance policy providing the minimum cover required to indemnify the carer and Ranger Home Care for any liability covered by the insurance policy, which is incurred in respect of the use of the motor vehicle, in the course of the provision of services, and provided that the carer complies with the terms of the insurance policy and does not do anything to invalidate it.
19.2 The client shall provide Ranger Home Care with written evidence on demand confirming that adequate insurance cover has been provided and is currently maintained by the client. The client agrees that Ranger Home Care is under no obligation to provide a carer with a full current driver’s licence.
19.3 Ranger Home Care reserves the right to ask the client to provide a copy of the valid insurance policy or other proof that the relevant carer is insured to drive the relevant vehicle.
20. Health and Safety
20.1 Ranger Home Care operates a minimal lifting policy. We expect any necessary handling equipment to be provided for the carer’s use. Our carers have been instructed to refuse to lift manually, please ensure the correct equipment is in-situ, in good working order and available for use at all times.
21. Travel Expenses
21.1 The cost of return travel from within the UK for carers to attend interviews should be reimbursed directly to Carers at the time of the interview if the client wishes to interview the carer prior to the commencement of the contract provision.
21.2 Once carers start work their assignment, their travel to and from work is their responsibility.
21.3 Any travel by the carer undertaken when with the client is at the client’s expense. Likewise, meals out, entertainment etc.
