                                                        Solids




               Shown below are sets of polyhedra commonly referenced during origami
               constructions.


               The Platonic solids, named after the ancient Greek philosopher Plato (428-348
               BC), also called the regular solids, are convex polyhedra bound by faces that are
               congruent regular convex polygons. The same numbers of faces meet at each
               vertex. There are exactly five.













































               The Archimedean solids, named after Archimedes (287-212 BC), are semi-
