  6. Associated with the Filaree was a Eupeodes volucris, Bird Hover Fly (photo bottom left - identification tentative).
 7. On this day, Junonia coenia, Common Buckeye, was the common butterfly which was flitting about.
  8. Toward the end of this walk there were several large individuals of Alnus oblongifolia, Arizona Alder. (Photos above and below.)
 9. The alder tended to grow closer to the stream than did the Ponderosa Pine. Associated with the pine there were Conopholis alpina, Ground Cone (photo top of next page).
