     are actively using the existing infrastructure, buying reloaders, transport, storage facilities, and reloading grain. Such complexes at the western border will simplify logistics solutions for grain transshipment. At least six to eight million tons of such capacity will be required soon. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the elevator storage capacity shortage for both old and new crops ranges from 10-15 million tons. The minister said that within one to two months, these businesses will be offered grain handling complexes and plots for their construction on favorable financing terms near the border.
Ukraine will export one million tons of sunflower seed in the first half of this year. According to Oil World, sunflower seed export from Ukraine has accelerated recently and surpassed previous expectations. According to statistical data, Ukraine shipped 1.64 million tons of grains and oilseeds in June. Sunflower seed exports were the majority of the total, amounting to about 460,000 tons, up from 350,000 tons shipped abroad in May. Given that sunflower seed export may reach 500,000 tons in June, the overall shipments of the oilseed may be as high as one million tons in January-June that will significantly surpass the result of the same period last year (41,000 tons). Almost all of these exports were sent to the EU. In addition, Ukraine may export 70,000 tons of soybean and 10,000 tons of rapeseed in June.
Ukraine has established two grain export channels. Faced with the Russian naval blockade, Ukraine has established grain export channels through Poland and Romania, and also are negotiating with the Baltic states, stated Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Senik. Through Poland, Ukrainian grain is exported by rail, but due to the difference in track width at the border, it is transported to other warehouses that lack critical infrastructure. Through Romania, Ukraine first transports grain by rail to Danube ports, then transports it on barges, and then it goes to the port of Constanta, which is expensive and time-consuming. “These corridors are not ideal, as they lead to unavoidable logistical delays, but we are doing everything possible to develop these paths now," Senik explained.
