end of the year. And to start works under the project from the beginning of 2023, " Donmez said. The minister said that Turkey is in negotiations with several potential gas suppliers. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier ordered the governments of both countries to work on creation of a gas hub in Turkey swiftly and in detail. The hub could be used to transfer transit of gas from the Nord Stream pipelines to the Black Sea region, and Erdogan thinks that Europe could receive Russian gas through Turkey.
Moldova have intendedly kept some gas in the Ukrainian transportation network because of low demand during warm weather and the impossibility to store excessive gas, Moldovagaz CEO Vadim Ceban said on November 23 on his Telegram channel. "Moldovagaz did not have the opportunity to deposit the gas unclaimed by the country's consumers in the first half of November, while to refuse it in conditions of limited gas supplies from JSC Gazprom in the proportion of 51% of the volume envisaged by the contract would mean to create an irreplaceable deficit for the second half of November, and some gas was temporarily kept in the networks of the Ukrainian transportation networks and was reflected on... the stations of Alekseyevka and Grebenniki," Ceban said.
Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to deactivate the pumping equipment at the Portovaya and Slavyanskaya gas compressor stations that pumped natural gas into the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, but it will not relocate it, Kommersant business daily reported on Monday quoting sources. Threads of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipeline were blown up in a terrorist attack on September 26.
Germany still has no real alternatives to gas supplies from Russia, even after the liquefied natural gas (LNG) deal with Qatar, Chairman of the Bundestag’s Committee on Climate Action and Energy Klaus Ernst said on his Twitter on Tuesday. “The federal government is celebrating the LNG deal with Qatar and bragging about big numbers. In reality, these twomn tonnes of LNG equal 3% of Germany's gas consumption. There are still no real alternatives to Russian gas!” he said.
Germany, Qatar sign a 30mt L-T contract for LNG, reports Bloomberg. The 15Y contract calls for 2mt/yr (2.7bcm/yr) of LNG to be supplied to Germany by Qatar beginning in 2026. This is a modest-sized contract, and we assume more such action. Our current assumptions call for long-term exports to Europe+Turkey of 100bcm vs 175bcm in 2021 and perhaps 85bcm in 2022. Prior to the start of the Ukraine crisis, we assumed long-term deliveries would be 200bcm/yr. In other words, this contract is not surprising, and the 2.7bcm would easily be covered by that 100bcm reduction in our L-T export assumptions we put into our model months ago. We would add that this gas was undoubtedly expensive, as it is a seller's market right now, and the few
