Japan has imposed sanctions implying, among other things, an asset freeze, where applicable, on 48 Russian individuals, 73 entities and separately Rosbank. Moreover, export restrictions have been introduced on 21 entities, including the Wagner private military company. The list of 73 entities whose assets will be frozen if revealed, particularly includes Kvant research institute, Vympel Shipyard, Grushin MKB Fakel, and JSC Radioavionika. Similar measures have been imposed against Rosbank. The list of 21 entities subject to export restrictions includes the Wagner private military company, the Federal center for dual-use technologies Soyuz, Milandr company, Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics (Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Ruselectronics holding, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart), Osipyan Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Optolink Research- and-Production Company, and Valiev Institute of Physics and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
EU Commission backs out of Russian nuclear sanctions. Three diplomats told Politico on Feb. 16 that the EU Commission will not include sanctions against the Russian nuclear sector or its representatives in its latest sanctions package. Many EU countries rely on Rosatom for the construction and maintenance of their nuclear power infrastructure.
Poland is deeply disappointed with the 10th package of sanctions.
According to the Polish ambassador to the EU, Andrzej Sados, the decision falls below expectations. For example, the draft document has no sanctions for the forced adoption of Ukrainian children. Also, the package does not have Poland's proposals to exclude Gazprom from reducing emissions in the extractive industry, which involves trading certificates for emissions during the extraction of hydrocarbons. Currently, sanctions do not prohibit the sale of quotas to enterprises with Russian capital, where Poland has demanded the
