3.2 Macro outlook
The Russian economy will rise slightly this year, and even the international institutions expect that to happen, President Vladimir Putin said on February 9 during a meeting with representatives of the national aviation companies. “This year, all the indicators point to small growth, and it is not only we who expect that, but international institutions expect general growth of the Russian economy as well,” he said, adding it meant that Russia had coped with the economic shocks. Russia has weathered the most difficult stages that the West tried to create, and its financial system, manufacturing industries, and the services sector continued working as usual. Russia was efficient in counteracting the economic threats, surprising those who tried to create these threats, he said.
