The Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline is the main line that used to carry oil from eastern European Russia to several countries in Europe, including Poland and Germany. However, both have completely stopped Russian imports since January 1.
Research by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) estimates that the EU's ban on crude oil imports from Russia and oil price cap is set to cost Russia €160mn ($171.7mn) a day.
Exports will probably fall more as a second ban on Russian refined products is due to come into effect on February 5, when it will an additional €120mn a day, according to CREA.
2.6 Russia tourist arrivals in Europe down 80%-90% in 2022
Russian tourists’ arrivals in Europe were down by 80%-90% in 2022 as a result of the war in Ukraine, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), reports Schengenvisa.com.
Russia’s fiercest opponents Poland and the Baltic States saw close to zero arrivals by Russian tourists, as did , Finland and Czechia since restrictive measures were introduced earlier last year.
In addition to bans on entry and non-recognition of Schengen visas that the Baltic states introduced, other reasons for the fall in tourism were logistical difficulties after most western airlines pulled out of Russia and soaring travel costs, which increased by three to four times.
