In addition to the military and political demands, Ukrainians also expressed strong views on linguistic and cultural matters. A significant majority, 75%, found the demand to grant the Russian language official or state language status within Ukraine to be unacceptable. This reflects concerns over preserving the linguistic and cultural identity of the country.
Similarly, 69% of respondents expressed their opposition to the demand to reject the policy of decommunization, reaffirming the importance of confronting the legacy of the country's communist past.
The survey, carried out between August 9 and 15, 2023, sheds light on Ukrainian public sentiment amidst ongoing negotiations.
