 1.0 Political outlook
In recent years, bne Intellinews has stuck with the advice: “If Turkey cannot manage somehow smoothly to get rid of the Erdogan regime, nothing would be a surprise amid the turmoil engulfing the country. Erdogan could at any time engage in wars, fuel violence at home, create more economic dilemmas, announce he is moving against another attempt at a ‘coup’, or conspire in and engender many other things that we can scarcely imagine at the moment.”
Tayyip the Conqueror
The close of 2024 brought the unending Syria story back into the spotlight. Erdogan’s jihadists captured Damascus and overthrew the Assad regime.
Once again, while waging wars of words against Israel, Erdogan at the same time was militarily attacking Israel’s enemies in Syria.
His jihadist militiamen made it to Damascus within 12 days of launching their offensive. They may have outdone the Taliban, who took over Afghanistan in 2021 within three and a half months.
So far, no one has opposed Erdogan’s invasion of Syria. However, if, once again, some bombs explode in various Turkish cities, it should not come as a big surprise.
The Western media keeps referring to “rebels” and the “opposition”. Donald Trump, as it happens, is the only person that has frankly informed the Western audience of the truth, namely that it is Erdogan who has taken over Syria after causing the downfall of its regime.
Take on board some cold truths. The US over the decades has run away from Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. For any outsider, Pakistan would also prove a place to run from. For decades, the exploding of a bomb in a Pakistani city has been an ordinary event. The US assassinated Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. It did not inform the Pakistani authorities of the mission since the jihadists have their men within the Pakistani state.
During the Taliban’s recapturing of Kabul, Western media circulated the idea that the Taliban have changed, that they are no longer a group of psycho-jihadists. Reports talked of oil and gas pipelines being laid in the country. They pointed to great business opportunities for China. And so on.
Currently, the same types of stories are being circulated about Syria. But soon the media frenzy will die down and Turkey will be left alone
