Poland plans to rid Europe completely of its dependence on Russian energy sources during its EU presidency
In the first half of 2025, Poland will set itself a priority goal – a complete elimination of imports from Russian energy carriers, Krzysztof Bolest, the State Secretary of the Polish Ministry of Climate, announced at the Warsaw Security Forum.
Hungary wants to increase gas purchases from Russia's Gazprom in 2025
Budapest and Russia's state-owned gas company Gazprom are in talks on additional purchases of gas next year, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said in an interview with Kremlin-run RIA Novosti published on October 15.

In October, the Russian Federation increased LNG exports to the maximum since the beginning of the year
Half of the volumes in 10 months were bought by the European Union. According to LSEG, for 10 months of the year, Russian LNG exports increased by 6% y/y to 26.4mn tonnes. About 13.4mn tonnes, or 51% of all exports, are sent to European countries.
Russia boosts LNG exports to Europe by 16% in 9M 2024 – IEA Russia became one of global leaders of LNG production growth due to higher capacity utilisation at Yamal LNG and Sakhalin-2 plants as compared to the prior year. Total LNG supplies from terminals to Europe’s gas transport system reached around 81.72 bcm as of October.
