He added that Szijjarto also underlined that Hungary-Russia energy cooperation was a "prerequisite" for Hungary's energy security and that so far this year Russia had supplied 4.8 Bcm of gas to Hungary, mainly via the TurkStream link.
Hungary agreed a 15-year deal in September 2021 with Gazprom for the supply of 4.5 Bcm/year of gas but has been importing additional volumes on a short-term basis over the past two years.

EU reshipping over 20% of Russian LNG imports to other parts of the world. Europe is reshipping 20% of its imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to other parts of the world, helping Russia maximize its fossil fuel revenues, the Financial Times reported on Nov. 29.
Russia’s share on the global LNG market will rise to 20% by 2030 from 8% in 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on November 22.
"Russia has already become the fourth largest LNG producer with an 8% share on the global market. The plan is to increase LNG production to 100mn tonnes by 2030, with the share on the global market increased to 20%," he said addressing the Federation Council (upper house of the parliament).
Novak said earlier that Russia intended to boost LNG production from 33mn tonnes this year to 100mn tonnes per year by 2030, with those volumes to be ensured by planned projects.
According to figures provided by Russia’s state statistics service Rosstat, LNG production in January-September 2023 amounted to 23.6mn tonnes, down by 4.4% y/y. In September, LNG production totaled 2.7mn tonnes, up by 3.2% y/y, and up by 24% month-on-month.

LNG output will start rising in Russia from next year, Novak said. "The production of liquefied natural gas will equal around 33mn tonnes, same as last year. However, we expect an increase starting next year due to the launch of the first line of the Arctic LNG-2," he said. Russia’s share in global LNG production currently stands at around 8%, Novak said earlier, adding that Moscow plans
