Passenger traffic by Aeroflot Group reached 4.2mn people in October, which is 19.7% up y/y, passenger traffic on international routes doubled in October and reached 957,700 people, the company reported.
In domestic segment Aeroflot Group carried 3.2mn passengers in October, which is 6.7% up y/y and 14.2% up in comparison with the same period of 2019.
From January to October 2023, the group’s passenger traffic increased by 15.1% y/y to 40mn passengers. The group's parent airline, Aeroflot, carried almost 21mn passengers (+19.7%) during this period. In October, Aeroflot airline carried 2.2mn passengers (+24.5%).
Aeroflot announced a settlement with Irish lessor BOC Aviation for 9 aircraft under operational lease on November 10. In accordance with the agreements reached, the lessors ceased their claims against the Russian parties both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements with Pobeda and Rossiya airlines. Ownership of the aircraft was transferred to the insurance company NSK, which paid the settlement amount. Since September 2023, Aeroflot has in total settled relations with 48 aircraft. The transfer of ownership rights to the aircraft of the insurance company NSK is positive for Aeroflot, since the leasing rate for these aircraft for the group is likely to be preferential and denominated in rubles.
