Russia is likely to sharply increase oil exports in November, business daily Kommersant reported on November 14, citing Kpler analysts. According to the report, the country's seaborne shipments are set to surge by some 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) next month compared to October, reaching up to 3.7mn bpd - the highest levels since May. Analysts note that the spike in exports is expected to come amid continued maintenance works at several Russian refineries, which forced companies to redirect oil for export. However, most repairs at refineries are expected to be completed by November 15, which may cause a drop in oil exports from December onward.
Greek companies refuse to transport Russian oil after the US’ warning.
Oil tanker owners in Greece have reduced the amount of Russian oil they carry, a decision that could eventually disrupt Russian oil supplies. The number of Greek tankers bound for Russia will decrease by 25% this month compared to last month and by 60% compared to June.
Russia’s dependence on imports in the fuel and energy sector fell from 67% to 38% over the past decade, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on November 22.
