Mongolia on track to meet 2022 mineral export projections
MONGOLIA
MONGOLIA exported 767,200 tonnes of coal by haulage truck to China in the week of July 29 to August 4, twice as much as was recorded in the same week last year, according to Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry data.
In the year to date, 11.5mn tonnes of coal were exported by Mongolia, up 10.4% y/y.
For iron ore and concentrate, the data showed
2.3mn tonnes exported since the beginning of 2022, marking a decrease of 51.5% y/y.
Mongolia’s total projected mineral exports for 2022 has been fulfilled to a percentage of 52%. Broken down, for coal the completion is 64.2%; copper concentrate 71.8%; iron 45.8%; gold 50.9% and zinc 85.6%.
