The outlook on Russia’s GDP growth for last year has been upgraded to 3.5%, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.
"Projections have been upgraded, the economic result both for 2022 and 2023 is 3.5%, some say (it is) higher. Calculations are still being made. It is necessary to stick to this trend accordingly, forming resources that are necessary for solving the tasks set by the president," he told reporters.
Russian Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov said earlier this week that the initial estimation of the country’s GDP growth for 2023 after adjustment might rise from 3.5% to around 4%, adding that there are totally five GDP estimations.
Leading analysts predict a slowdown in the growth of the world economy IN 2024. The pace of global economic growth will slow in 2024, according to more than half (56%) of the chief economists surveyed as part of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The remaining respondents expect the global GDP growth rate to remain at 2023’s level or to accelerate. The IMF estimates that the global economy will grow by 2.9% in 2024 after growing by 3% in 2023. Economists are most pessimistic about Europe - 77% believe that growth in the region will be weak or very weak. Meanwhile, 93% of respondents expect moderate or strong growth in South Asia and 86% in East Asia. The rate of US GDP growth will vary from moderate to strong, according to 56% of the surveyed economists. Back in September, the percentage was 78%.
