4.5 Inflation & Monetary Policy - Kosovo
Kosovo’s average inflation is seen at 3% in 2024 down from 4.8% in
2023, according to the World Bank.
After reaching its 2023 peak in January, consumer inflation was on a downward trend until July 2023 (2.4% y/y) and experienced a slight uptick in August 2023 (3.2% y/y).
Inflation is expected to decelerate, yet price levels will remain elevated throughout 2023.
In terms of average annual inflation, the IMF expects consumer price inflation in Kosovo in 2023 of 4.7% on average, which will slow down to 3.1% in 2024, following 11.7% inflation in 2022.
In November 2023, Kosovo’s annual inflation, measured under HICP methodology, slowed to 2.9% from 3.3% a month earlier.
