    Erdogan on October 21 denied that Turkey's armed forces have used chemical weapons against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters in northern Iraq.
Police on October 26 detained the head of Turkey's medical association, TTB, following her call for an investigation into allegations that Turkish armed forces used chemical weapons against Kurdish militants in northern Iraq.
Greek-based shipping company Levante Ferries launched a ferry link between Thessalonika in northern Greece and the western Turkish port of Izmir. The vessel carries up to 948 passengers and 300 vehicles.
The Special Forces units of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey launched the joint “Caucasian Eagle 2022” military exercises on 11 October, which are being hosted by Georgia this year. The joint exercises are held annually according to a rotation of the location. Last year, the exercises were hosted by Turkey.
Saudi Arabia’s MBC Group, the Middle East’s largest broadcaster, has signed a five-year partnership with Turkey’s Medyapim and Ay Yapim production houses. MBC more than four years ago pulled Turkish programmes including soap operas that were popular with Arab audiences.
