Serbia puts Novi Sad port up for sale
Russian carrier Aeroflot to develop regional route network
The Serbian economy ministry has invited investors to submit letters of interest in the privatisation process of Novi Sad port on the Danube river. The starting price is €15.98mn.
The ministry is putting up for sale all its 99.4% stake in the port. Interested investors have until October 22 to submit their offers. The port of Novi Sad is located in the central part of the province of Vojvodina, in northern Serbia.
It is the only port in which the Serbian government has a majority stake, according to N1. About 1mn tonnes of goods pass through it every year and it employs around 150 people.
Russian national air carrier Aeroflot plans to launch four regional aviation hubs in addition to the one in Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, potentially developing more routes from St Petersburg, Sochi, Krasnoyarsk, and one of the cities of the Urals region, Vedomosti daily said on September 10, citing unnamed sources
in the company.
Aeroflot Group has already boosted its presence in the Russian re- gions by launching domestic airline Rossiya and lowcoster Pobeda. The news of moves to boost its regional presence are in line with the recent announcement that Aeroflot will order 100 medium-dis- tance Russian Sukhoi Super Jets.
11 companies and consortia have filed initial offers for the design, procurement and construction of the €220mn Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (ICGB), the project company developing the link said in a statement.
The interconnector will help diversify natural gas sources for Bul- garia, which at present mainly depends on Russian gas.
It will have a length of 182 km, of which 151 km will be on Bulgar- ian territory. Its capacity is planned to be 3bn cubic metres (cm). Bulgaria and Greece signed a delayed final investment decision on building the interconnector in December 2015.
The value of the project is estimated at €145mn and the winner should build the link within 18 months of signing the contract, ICGB said.
