Ukrainian drones successfully attacked the business center in Moscow.
Russia says that Ukraine targeted the capital of Russia with several drones on July 30, the latest in a series of attacks that have brought the Ukraine war to Russia’s capital. The Russian defence Ministry said three drones were intercepted, but a business and shopping development in the west of the capital was hit. The fifth and sixth floors of a 50-story building were damaged, and no casualties were reported. A spokesman for Ukraine’s Air Force said the latest drone attacks on Moscow aimed to impact Russians who had felt that the war was distant since the Kremlin invaded Ukraine in February 2022. "There’s always something flying in Russia, as well as in Moscow. Now the war is affecting those who were not concerned,” the spokesman, Yurii Ihnat, said on Ukrainian television.
The Kerch Strait Bridge connecting Russia and Crimea was hit
July 17. As a result of the explosions, two spans of the bridge were damaged,
again on
and two Russians were killed. Rail service along the bridge resumed later on
Monday, but drivers were advised to use alternate routes. This is the second
time that the bridge has been targeted since Russia launched its full-scale
invasion of Ukraine last February. In October, an explosion caused part of the
bridge to collapse. The Crimean bridge is strategically important to the Kremlin
because it serves as a supply route for Russian goods to the illegally occupied
peninsula. It has also been an important channel for reinforcements and
supplies to the Russian military forces. Lastly, the bridge has symbolic
meaning as a physical connection between Russia and Crimea.
Ukraine drones struck two non-residential buildings in Moscow. On Monday morning, one of the drones that were spotted in Moscow was brought down near a Russian Ministry of defence complex. Russian media footage showed damage to one of its buildings. Russia reported Ukrainian drone attacks early Monday that targeted Moscow and Russia-occupied Crimea.
