UZ plans to build a gas generation plant with a capacity of 250 MW. The state company Ukrainian Railways (UZ) plans to build gas power plants with a total capacity of 250 MW in various regions. UZ is among the five largest distribution companies in the country in terms of network length and flow volumes. Electricity generation will allow the company to partially provide its own power needs for critical infrastructure facilities and consumers throughout Ukraine that are connected to the UZ distribution network. The total electricity needs of the state railway company have reached 300 MW. UZ can start implementing the project in the next three months. Currently, the company is looking for funding sources and is negotiating to attract grants and international financial assistance. Negotiations with equipment suppliers are also ongoing.
Ukrnafta CEO Serhiy Koretskyi said the company made a strategic decision to construct a gas generation plant and has already begun attracting partners. The company promises to build at least 100 MW of gas generation this year.
The Bulgarian government has signed contracts to construct two gas pipelines for the Vertical Gas Corridor initiative. This project envisages launching gas pipelines together with gas transport operators from Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Moldova to supply gas of non-Russian production from terminals in the Eastern Mediterranean. The total value of the two contracts is about $270M.
Ukrnafta fully pays dividends to state for 2023 PJSC Ukrnafta transferred UAH 3.5bn in dividends to NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy based on operating results for 2023, the company's press service reported on Tuesday.

The German transport company FlixBus launched three new routes from Ukraine to Europe. FlixBus announced the launch of three international lines from Ukraine: "Kyiv-Kyshiniv" via Odesa and Chisinau airport, "Truskavets-Modlin" via Lviv and Warsaw, and "Vinnytsia-Budapest" via Budapest airport. FlixBus has 29 direct bus flights between Ukraine and six EU countries.
Ukrainian Railways (UZ) has increased freight transportation by 30% since the beginning of the year. The state railroad company transported 75.4mn tonnes of cargo in January-May 2024, 30% more than in 2023. During this period, domestic transportation amounted to 32.9mn tonnes (+ 6.7%), exported 38mn tonnes (+57%), and imported 4.3mn tonnes (+ 68.5%).
