     inflation rate of 5.1% in 2023, it can be said that Ukrainian retail is on an active development path. Last year, product retail generated the highest turnover. The first three places in terms of sales are occupied by ATB, Silpo, and Epicentr. The 10 largest retailers in terms of turnover are fast-moving consumer goods operators, which include large international players such as Metro and Auchan and local players such as Fine Market.

5.2 Balance of payments
     The foreign trade deficit narrowed in April. This follows a reduction in expenses for war refugees abroad and a significant increase in corn exports.
     Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine's trade turnover amounts to $44.3B, with imports exceeding exports by $11B. From January to May, Ukraine imported goods worth $27.5B and exported $16.8B. The largest share of imports during this period consists of machinery, equipment and transport, totaling $9.4B; chemical industry products - $5.1B; and fuel and energy goods - $3.4B. Ukraine bought the most goods from China - $5.3B, Poland - $2.9B, and Germany - $2.2B. The top three export items from Ukraine were food - $10.8B, metals and metal products - $1.8B, and mineral products - $1.6B.
