Ukraine increased its import of goods by 7.6%. According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine imported goods worth $21.92B in January-April, which is 7.6% more than in the same period last year. At the same time, Ukraine's export of goods increased by 0.3% to $13.45B.
Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka said May’s exports from Ukraine decreased in value terms compared to April by 0.5% to $3.34B, while imports fell immediately by 7% to $5.1B.

Polish farmers resumed blockade at a Ukrainian border crossing, Border Guard Service says. Polish protesters have resumed their blockade at the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne border crossing over Ukrainian agricultural imports, Ukraine's Border Guard Service said on June 4.
EIB working to create pan-European mechanism for exporting goods to Ukraine The European Investment Bank (EIB) Group is working on creating a pan-European export credit guarantee mechanism worth €300mn for small and medium-sized companies in the EU exporting goods or services to Ukraine, EIB President Nadia Calviño said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

Ukraine is successfully replacing the Russian Federation in the European metal products market. According to Eurostat data, Ukrainian mining companies shipped 5.11mn tonnes of iron ore to the EU market in January-April, which is 3.7% more than in the same period last year. The costs for European raw material importers increased by 5.8%, up to €614.83M. The main consumers of Ukrainian raw materials among EU countries were Slovakia with 1.83mn tonnes (+0.3%), the Czech Republic – 986,400 tonnes (-35.4%), Poland – 1.44mn tonnes (+6.2%), and Germany – 317,000 tonnes (+480%). At the same time, the EU reduced the import of products from Russia’s mining and metallurgical complex by 20.4%. to 1.52mn tonnes. Import costs decreased by 16.3% to €801.15M. The main share of imports is semi-finished products, 79.3% of the total import volume. Russia’s iron ore supply to the EU amounted to 9,360 tonnes (-96.7%).
Ukrainians spent more than $2B on imported cars in four months. During January-April, 133,908 cars (new and used) were imported into Ukraine, with a total customs value of almost $2.1B. The largest share of these imports are passenger cars, worth more than $1.5B, and trucks, worth $460.3M.
Next season, Ukraine will export more than 60% of its agricultural products. Currently, exports are 3% higher than last year. In the 2024-2025 marketing year (July-June), Ukraine will be able to export more than 60% of the agricultural products it produces, despite constant shelling of critical infrastructure and problems with electricity, said the head of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, Taras Vysotskyi.
