  9.1.2 Automotive sector news
    In January-February, Ukrainians imported 53,000 used cars, 4.4 times the volume of the first two months of 2019. Used imports, a rarity four years ago, now account for 81% of car imports, reports Ukravtoprom, the vehicle industry association. In 2020, 353,400 used imports and 85,500 new imports were registered in Ukraine.

As restrictions on diesel cars spread in Germany, prices on late model diesels have dropped, making them attractive to Ukrainian buyers. Sales of trucks and vans dropped by 16%, to 43,500. Germany was also the top supplier.
Ukraine imports about 500,000 cars annually, reports the National Reform Council. To ease the process and cut corruption, this presidential office proposing importing through the Diya app. The new system would cut import costs by one third and cut budget losses, currently $300-400mn.
 9.1.3 Transport sector news
    Passenger travel was down almost 50% in January-February, compared to the same pre-pandemic period last year, reports the State Statistics Service. The drops: rail - down 49%, to 11.2mn passengers; transport companies down 41%, to 397mn; motor transport down 42%, to 167mn passengers; and airlines down to 600,000, one third the level of last winter.
