On top of that, the state-owned company is re-marketing volumes from older contracts that are nearing expiry. That includes about 13mn tonnes a year of deals — mostly with trading companies — sending LNG to Europe, which expire in 2028, according to Corbeau.
Competition for the buyers is heating up. The US now holds a 43% share of Europe’s LNG market, followed by 16% by Qatar, according to BMI Research, a Fitch Solutions company.
Qatar will face an uphill task to expand market shares in Europe’s LNG market since US producers are chasing to secure long-term supply agreements with importers who are seeking to reduce dependence on Russian gas.

Poland increased its import of Russian liquefied gas by 11%. It is noted that the import of LNG from Russia for the eight months of 2023 increased from 740,000 tonnes to 819,000 tonnes.
9.1.2 Automotive sector news
New car sales in September 2023 increased by 120,5% and by 42,8% for the three quarters of 2023, the Association of European Business’s Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB) says.
Starting from July 2023, the AEB press release has been supplemented with sales data provided by PPC JSC (Passport industrial consulting), including, among other things, sales volumes not included in AEB statistics. This will make it possible to give a more objective assessment of the state of the new car sales market and its dynamics.
According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, based on data from automakers and official importers, sales for the 3 quarters of the year increased by 26,1%.
Among the sold new cars:
LCVs – 60 640 pcs., or 9,5% (AMC) or 8,0% (PPC) SUVs – 374 191 pcs., or 58,6% or 49,1% (PPC) Pick-ups – 6 490 pcs, or 1,0% or 0,9% (PPC)
BEV (Battery Electric vehicles) – 1 256 pcs.
