Revenue from tariff indexation will amount to about 130bn rubles, more than 90% will be withdrawn through the mineral extraction tax. Deputy Minister of Finance Alexey Sazanov said on October 13 that Gazprom’s revenue from additional indexation of gas tariffs in 2024–2026. will amount to about 120–130bn rubles per year, while more than 90% of these funds will be withdrawn to the budget through the planned mechanism for adjusting the mineral extraction tax. Previously, the government announced increases in the mineral extraction tax and compensatory indexation of gas tariffs. The news was expected; Gazprom will not receive a significant net effect from tariff indexation.
The Finance Ministry has suggested that the government privatise some companies in 2024 keeping a controlling stake, Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview to Rossiya 1 television channel aired on October 10. “I can say that we have another resource, we have privatisation, and we could consider additional sales of some state assets next year and attracting more private business to the state enterprises without losing control of the state,” he said. He refused to mention any companies that could be privatised. But privatisation is one of the sources of covering budget spending which should hit a record of 36.5 trillion rubles in 2024, he said. If the economic situation improves, the ministry may even consider amending the borrowing plan for 2024, he said, adding that the government plans a 500bn ruble injection into
