EU member states, an agreement was reached on the transit of Ukrainian products by ferry through the Romanian checkpoint Isachea-Orlivka. All parties have agreed on the transit through the EU of pork and beef and meat products and composite products from these types of meat.
Ukraine has proposed the creation of an organization of grain-exporting countries. At the G7 ambassadors' meeting, Ukraine called for the development of an influential organization of grain exporting countries to respond to global market challenges, as stated at the Stuttgart G7 conference by Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky. "Due to the blockade of Ukrainian seaports, 7 million tons of wheat, 14 million tons of corn, 3 million tons of sunflower oil, and 3 million tons of sunflower meal and other crops have not entered the world market," Solsky said. This has already led to a record rise in world market prices. At the suggestion of Ukraine, the creation of such an organization would set limits on grain exports to stabilize prices and market predictability.
Fuel imports to Ukraine by truck have increased 15 times. Since the beginning of May, fuel imports over the road have increased 15 times and imports by river transport and rail by five times compared to March, reported Forbes Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, oil consumption in Ukraine has fallen by 72%. The needs for May are about 100,000 tons of gasoline and 250,000 tons of diesel, said Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko. He added, "The Russians destroyed our oil depots, particularly the largest one, the Kremenchug refinery. Of course, this has affected the market. We were forced to restructure logistics completely.” The Minister stressed that the volume of imports is growing every day, and the problem of fuel shortages will be solved soon.
Canada has abolished duties on hot-rolled products from Ukraine. During an official review of the tariffs on hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel sheets from Brazil, China, India, and Ukraine, introduced in 2001, officials refused to extend duties on 77% of goods from Ukraine. The court has found that continuing these duties is not probable to lead to dumping of these goods, and so is unlikely to result in losses," the Canadian International Trade Terminal said in a statement on the Canadian government's website. However, restrictive measures have been maintained for products from Brazil, China, and India. In 20 years, Ukrainian steel products will finally be able to be exported to Canada again," said Ambassador of Ukraine Yulia Kovalev.
Millions of tons of grain are trapped in the ports of Ukraine. Almost four and a half million tons of grain are blocked in Ukrainian ports by Russian naval vessels. The products cannot be exported through closed sea routes amid the Russian military invasion, stated the UN World Food Program representative, Martin Frick. Before the war, Ukraine was one of the world's largest exporters of wheat and a major producer of corn. According to the UN, many countries depend on the supply of Ukrainian grain. "Hunger should not be a weapon," Frick said. He called for the resumption of Ukrainian food supplies to other countries to alleviate the global food crisis.
The EU and the US will help Ukraine to export grain. The United States, the EU, and Poland will do everything possible to help Kyiv export Ukrainian grain to world markets. This has not been possible due to the Russian blockade of Ukrainian seaports. At a joint press conference in Warsaw, this issue was
