    Egypt is ready to play host to up to five million Russian tourists per year,
compared to last year when the country counted around one million Russian visitors, Russian Ambassador to Cairo Georgy Borisenko said in an interview with TASS.
Russian tourist flow abroad surged by 47% year on year against the like period from 2022 to two million trips, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said on June 26. "While Russian tourists made about sevenmn trips overseas in 2022, Russians have already made about twomn trips abroad for tourism purposes as early as in the first quarter of 2023. This is almost 47% more than in the like period from last year," Reshetnikov said, as cited by the ministry’s press service. Russians are currently traveling to traditional destinations with developed tourist infrastructure, the minister noted. Tourism soared by 71% to Turkey, by 88% to the UAE, and by a factor of twelve to Thailand in January - March 2023 on account of direct air service being restored.

      Coal production in Russia in five months of 2023 increased by 1.5% y/y, while exports grew by 2%, Minister of Energy Nikolay Shulginov said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that coal production in Russia in 2022 amounted to 443.6mn metric tonnes. According to the Ministry of Energy, coal exports decreased by 1% last year to 221.2mn metric tonnes.

Russian Railways, the state-owned company responsible for the country's rail infrastructure, has reported a 2% y/y increase in cargo loading on its railroads for the month of May. Deputy CEO Alexei Shilo shared this information during a press briefing on May 30, although he did not disclose specific figures regarding the absolute cargo loading numbers. In response to a question about the dynamics of cargo loading in May, Shilo expressed satisfaction with the growth, stating that it exceeded 2% compared to the same period last year.
