Russian ammonia producer Togliattyazot incurs colossal losses due to the closure of the Tolyatti–Odessa ammonia pipeline, a spokesperson told PRIME on June 19. "Togliattyazot is bearing colossal losses due to the closure of ammonia pipeline Tolyatti–Odessa. The company is at the breakeven level now. Togliattyazot has seven ammonia units, three are working. These conditions are absolutely unfitting for business," the representative said.
PhosAgro, a leading Russian fertiliser producer, has reported an 8% increase in mineral fertiliser exports during the period of January to April. Alexander Sharabaiko, Deputy CEO for Finance and International Projects, revealed that while exports to Europe experienced a 10% decline, exports to Latin America saw a substantial rise of 50%. Sharabaiko emphasized the company's flexibility in adapting to different markets, highlighting their ability to send products to any region.
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sharabaiko provided further insights into export trends. He noted that Southeast Asia, with the exception of India, witnessed a decrease in exports compared to the previous year. However, exports to North America showed a positive growth trajectory.
PhosAgro's CEO, Mikhail Rybnikov, emphasized the company's continued focus on the Russian market. He stated that this year the company has set more ambitious output plans, targeting 11.3 million tonnes. The distribution of products will be based on a clear priority: fulfilling the demands of the Russian market. Any surplus that remains after meeting domestic needs will be exported.
