The share of friendly nations in the Russian non-energy export structure is about 70% at present, CEO of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). "We can say now that as we had 200 trading partners before, the same number remains as of today - 200 selling markets are waiting for our products. The share changed: while the share of nations we currently call unfriendly stood at 60% in our non-commodity and non-energy exports a year and a half ago, and markets of friendly nations accounted for 40%, now export markets of friendly countries constitute 70% in the structure of our non-commodity and non-energy market," Nikishina said
Russia has been among the top five global wheat exporters for a decade and this year, the country may set an all-time record for wheat exports, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 16. "I would like to note that supplies of agricultural products have reached a new high of more than $41bn. For ten years, Russia has been among the top five grain exporters. Since 2016, it has been the world’s largest wheat exporter - number one on global markets. There is reason to believe that this year, our companies will take another step forward and break the record in terms of wheat exports," he said at SPIEF.
Russian fertiliser producers tripled their exports to India in 2022 compared to 2021 and plan to maintain the figure in 2023 at last year’s level, head of the Russian fertilisers Producers Association Andrey Guryev said on June 15. "We have delivered three times as many mineral fertilisers to India as we have in the past. Markets are changing and we are working closer with the markets of the global South, which is the primary market that will grow," he remarked at the SPIEF session.
Uralchem-Uralkali Group intends to ship 80,000-90,000 tons of fertilisers blocked in European ports as humanitarian assistance to African countries in need in the near future, Chief Executive Officer of United Chemical Co Uralchem Dmitry Konyaev said in an interview aired by the Rossiya-24 TV news channel within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Wednesday.
"The first batch shipped was not part of the frozen products, with the shipments flowing from Russia’s Baltic. Later we managed to ship products from the Netherlands and Belgium, while now shipments from Latvia are underway. We have already shipped 77,000 or 78,000 tons, and we plan to ship another 80,000-90,000 tons in the foreseeable future," he said.
Uralchem-Uralkali agreed to supply humanitarian batches of fertilisers blocked at warehouses in Belgium, the Netherlands and Estonia to Africa last November. The first vessel for exports was chartered by the UN’s World Food Program.
