According to Zelenskyy, Russia is trying to undermine European unity through war. Therefore, he called on the international community to respond to these threats and support Ukraine to ensure regional peace and stability.
"If we don't help Ukraine, the war won't end, we won't have any strength, Russia will come back to destroy all of Ukraine and move further. And next will be the European Union and NATO countries," he said. According to him, what is happening worldwide is not an accident but a plan to reduce attention and aid to Ukraine. "The world needs to prevent a full-scale war," Zelenskyy commented on recent events, including in Israel. He believes that "the world is in a situation where a world war can break out on any continent. The cheapest option is to stop Russia and the war in our country and remove them from our territory," Zelenskyy emphasized.
Summit of the European Political Community in Spain: additional air defences and support for Ukraine's accession to the EU. Within the summit's framework, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez. They discussed a defence support package that includes additional air defence, artillery, and anti-drone systems. "We are preparing to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU under the presidency of Spain," the president added. Sanchez, in turn, emphasized that Spain will support Ukraine until the end of the war. Currently, he is thinking about a reform that will provide a financial basis for directing all resources to help and support Ukraine in the coming years. In addition, Sánchez added that Spain favors expanding the EU from 28 to 35 members. At the summit, Zelensky also met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and discussed the next military aid package for Ukraine.
There are fascists in the Ukrainian army - Robert Fico, winner of parliamentary elections in Slovakia. “There are fascists in the ranks of the Ukrainian army. Let’s take the Azov regiment – this is clearly a fascist regiment,” Fico said. “I am shocked that red carpets are being rolled out for them abroad. Those who call for similar phenomena in 2023 are trampling on the legacy of the Slovak National Uprising. We must confront fascism and Nazism in all its manifestations,” he added.
The Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki during a Speech on October 2 spoke directly to Ukraine President Zelensky urging him not to Establish any Close-Ties with Germany and to remember who has provided the most Support to Ukraine; he further stated that Germany will always Side with Russia over the Central European Community.
The EU's policy regarding refugees from Ukraine has changed: people are leaving the Czech Republic, Germany is reducing support, and Poland is faced with a dilemma. According to Czech media, more than 200,000 Ukrainian refugees who entered the country after the start of the war have already left the Czech Republic. These refugees either went to another EU country or returned home. A total of 561,605 Ukrainians applied for temporary protection in the Czech Republic.
