6.1.1 Budget dynamics - results
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ukraine has officially signed into law a bill, which increases military spending in the 2023 budget, Interfax Ukraine reports.
These amendments primarily focus on providing financial support to the security and defence sector while addressing critical priority issues.
The accompanying explanatory note to the draft law outlines that the expenses of the state budget general fund will see a substantial increase of UAH 322.6bn ($8.8bn) for the current fiscal year.
Key allocations include a significant boost in funding for national security and defence, totalling nearly UAH 303bn::

● Ministry of Internal Affairs: UAH 79.2bn
● Security Service: UAH 4.2bn
● Ministry of Strategic Industries: UAH 4.3bn
● Main Intelligence Agency: UAH 2.5bn

● State Security Department: UAH 230.5mn
Additionally, the amendments involve increased budget allocations for various other government ministries and departments, including:

Ukraine’s 2024 defence budget will exceed 21.6% of GDP for the first time. On October 9, the National Security and defence Council (NSDC) defined the main parameters of the 2024 defence budget.
