TEXAS PENAL CODE 46.13(B)

• Handgun owner commits offense:

▫ Child gains access to readily dischargeable firearm, and is

▫ Criminally negligent

 Failed to secure the firearm, or

 Left the firearm where they knew or should have known a

child would gain access.
