Medicine and Wellbeing
This technology has major implications for all health related felds. A comprehensive review of these varied electrophotonic applications can be found in [8, 9]. Research with the Bio-Well device is currently in process at universities and research institutes worldwide in the areas of medicine, "energy medicine", athletic training, biophysics, parapsychology, and other disciplines. Electrophotonic technology provides a convenient and user friendly method to assess patients with a wide range of issues and can also be utilized to assess responses to drugs, meditation, stress reduction therapy and other interventions.
The data presented by EPI software is based on the statistical analysis of an extensive database of parameters for over 200,000 people; a varied population ranging from 18 to 100 years old, men and women, both generally healthy, and having chronic diseases. Many people were tested multiple times.
Sport
Electrophotonic technique became an invaluable diagnostic tool in Russian Olympic and Paralympic sports. The advantages of the EPI technique include ease of use, non-invasive application, and very short time for analysis. This is very important for sports applications since athletes are often emotionally overwhelmed during competition and do not have enough time and energy for long and complex laboratory studies which can further overload their emotional state [10, 11].
Measurements were usually performed on a daily basis, with readings taken only from the ring fngers of both hands in the morning immediately after waking up and in the evening after the end of training. This method of measurement takes less than one minute to obtain the readings of one athlete and allows the determination of energy potential (EP) and the level of stress (SL) – which together characterize the psychophysiological state [11]. For example, statistical analysis based on rank Spearman correlation coeffcients of the EPI and "Effciency" index values for the players of Russian sledge-hockey team, based on the results of the match between Russia and Norway in the Turin tournament (Figure 5), demonstrated that between these indexes exist correlation, and the variations of charts for the most part happens synchronously [13]. This allows coachers to predict athlete’s effciency based on the dynamics of their EPI indexes.
