valuable compost. We haven’t found a solution yet but continue
to work on this.

Soogadin Services LP developed an insulation evaluation
program that uses thermal cameras to assess pipes and
values to identify inadequate insulation resulting in heat loss.
Reduced temperatures affect steam effectiveness and
require more energy (and emissions). By adequately
insulating these problem areas we can help customers
reduce costs and emissions.

Each year we evaluate dozens of companies as investment
opportunities. Last year, we completed a transaction to invest
a substantial amount of capital into Enlighten Innovations Inc.
Enlighten is a specialty refinery technology company that is
focused solely on the marine fuel industry. Marine fuel, or bunker
fuel, is high in sulphur and is a major GHG emission. The world’s
15 biggest ships create more pollution than all the cars in the
world. Enlighten’s technology can significantly reduce these
emissions and we are excited to be a part of this company and
its mission.

In 2019 we will continue to find ways to reduce costs in the oil
sands through new technology and are hopeful for the outlook
of the industry.
